The Jesuit Provincial for Southern Africa, Father Leonard Chiti have called upon all Jesuit school alumni to help in the development of their former schools as a way of giving back to the community.
Addressing congregants at the Sacred Heart Banket parish’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, he said we Jesuits want to call all those formed on our schools to be collaborators with us.
Father Chiti said the collaboration should not only focus on education but also evangelization wherever they go.
He also said Jesuit education institutions always aim at being safe environments for children and priotizes on a culture of safeguarding.
“We often put schools that appear to parishes to ensure that the young who pass through them have a wholesome education”, added Father Chiti.
He said Jesuits aim at educating the whole person who they believe will become an agent of evangelisation in the not too distant future.
He also vowed to prioritize evangelisation in all sectors of the Church, just as what Chinhoyi diocese does.
He assured his Lordship Raymond Mupandasekwa that the Jesuits shall continue to do all these in the spirit of prayer and discernment.
The Provincial promised that if resources permit, they will have some Jesuit stations for Sacred Heart Banket to foster a holistic spirituality that enables believers to find God in all circumstances of life.
